Light touch enough for protection says Swiss Life

Full regulation is not needed for protection advice says Swiss Life technical manager Bob Cheesewright.

Reacting to the Treasury announcement of its intention to introduce statutory regulation for protection and general insurance, he says there is a clear difference between investment based and protection style products.

Cheesewright advocates light touch regulation for protection which encourages good practice but doesn&#39t see the need for expensive regulatory audit procedures which will inevitably lead to higher costs for consumers.
