Lifesearch signs protection advice deal with Gocompare.com

LifeSearch has signed a deal with comparison site Gocompare.com that will see it offer free telephone-based protection advice to Gocompare users.

Gocompare customers who buy their policy via LifeSearch will also be offered advice on setting up trusts and will be able to access LifeSearch’s claims desk which aims to ensure claims are paid promptly.

In February, Lifesearch entered an exclusive deal with Comparethemarket.com to offer users advice on life insurance.

LifeSearch chief executive Tom Baigrie says: “We are delighted to be working with a prestigious brand like Gocompare.com. This exciting new partnership ensures more people than ever have access to quality financial advice.”

Gocompare.com business development director John Miles says: “Protection is a complicated area, with so many different types and levels of cover available, so we are pleased to be able to give our customers the opportunity to speak to a real person and get free, independent advice.”

Master Adviser senior partner Roy McLoughlin says: “It is great that a company such as Gocompare has recognised that protection products need specialist advice.”

Masons Financial Planning practice principal Dean Mason says: “This is a really positive move for the industry, as I have long believed there is a non-advised time bomb ticking for those getting protection policies online without advice.”
