Lifesearch launches consumer-facing website

Lifesearch has launched a consumer-facing website helping those who are less financial savvy purchase protection products.

The website,, has been designed in conjunction with 1st – The Exchange to help consumers understand what their protection needs are without having to talk to an adviser.

The site prompts users to compare their circumstances with different products, critical illness, income protection, life insurance and family income benefit, before buying the relevant cover instantly.

If the user decides to apply online straight away then they will be automatically covered for up to 72 hours providing the cause of any claim is an accident and not health-related.

A Lifesearch teleinterviewer will then contact the new policyholder for full personal details before the plan goes live.

Products are offered from a select panel of four insurers – Axa, Friends Provident, Legal & General and Royal Liver. founder and Lifesearch managing director Tom Baigrie says: “ takes protection advice online for the first time in a usable fashion and will have an increasingly important role to play in protection sales for the 21st Century.

“Consumers badly need a place on the internet to purchase financial protection which is more than just a quick click and buy experience with no expertise involved. will rectify this problem and give consumers access to the best products through this simple and easy to use online site.”
