Life and pensions back office services provider Liberata has signed an exclusive partnership with Indian firm Gecis.
The deal will enable Liberata to offer its domestic clients to offshore aspects of its back office.
Gecis, a joint venture between General Electric and two private equity firms, has 19,000 staff worldwide.
Liberata business development manager Chris Boon says aspects of Gecis’s offering will be made available to both current and new clients.
He adds the possible introduction of VAT on outsourced non-sales life services in the EU was not a catalyst for the deal, particularly with the lack of clarity around the VAT issue.
Boon says: “We have been looking at this for over three years and we will use Gecis as a component of our offering.”
