L&G new business up 24 per cent

Legal & General new business sales are up 24 per cent to £585m from £473m EPI for the nine months to September 30.

Individual life and pensions sales were up 16 per cent to £325m from £280m EPI and corporate pensions were up 106 per cent to £103m from £50m EPI. Unit trust and Isa sales were up 28 per cent to £88m from £69m.

At the end of September L&G had 36,000 stakeholder designations, up from 24,000 at the end of June, covering £1m potential scheme members.
