Legal & General is providing 500 homebuyers with seller packs to help prevent them from being gazumped in the house buying process.
The life office is hoping the packs which are part of Government proposals to improve the housebuying process will reduce the chances of housebuyers falling into some of the many pitfalls.
Sellers taking part in the pilot scheme will also be able to track the sale of their property by calling a helpline.
Director of housing markets Gareth Hoskin says: “We anticipate the results of our pilot will be extremely useful to the Government because it will illustrate how a key element of the new proposals can actually work in practice.”
