L&G appoints chief finance officer

Legal & General has appointed Dr Nigel Wilson as group chief financial officer with immediate effect.

Andrew Palmer will retire from the board today, but will remain with the company until the end of the year to ensure an orderly handover.

Palmer has been a board member at L&G since 1996, and group director of finance since 2001.

Wilson joins L&G from United Business Media, where he has been chief financial officer since 2001, as well as deputy chief executive officer since 2008.
