L&G appoints board director

Legal & General Property has appointed Paul Edwards as director of its board.

Edwards, who joined the life office as a graduate in 1990, will now be responsible for assessing investment opportunities for LGP in Europe and overseeing the current and future corporate governance framework for LGP’s unlisted property fund structures.

Other duties will include the management and further development of the industrial property investment fund, which has grown from assets under management of £96 million in 1998 to £975 million during his involvement.

Edwards says: “I very much look forward to working with my colleagues as we increase the scope and range of LGP’s funds to further enhance LGP’s position as a leading property fund management business.”

LGP’s managing director Bill Hughes says Edwards’ experience will make a considerable contribution to the board as it continues to drive LGP forward.
