Lee Gladwell joins Towergate

Former Platform director Lee Gladwell has joined Towergate insurance network subsidiary Broker Network as a consultant on a six month contract to help the firm develop its products and services.

Broker Network was formed in 1994 and bought by Towergate in 2007. It currently has 230 members.

Previously Platform’s director of sales and proposition, Gladwell left the lender after four years in August following a restructuring of parent company Co-operative Bank’s mortgage business.

Prior to this, Gladwell has held roles at the Chartered Insurance Institute, Capita, Axa , NPI and Commercial Union.

Broker Network has also appointed former Keychoice head of underwriting Dene Smith as insurer director.

Before joining Keychoice in December 2009, Smith was the head of customer delivery at Axa Insurance. He has also previously worked for HSBC and Norwich Union.

Broker Network chief executive Tim Johnson says: “Dene joins us in the strategically significant role of insurer director and will continue to carry on the important work that has been done to secure long term supportive relationships with our partner panel. Dene possesses an impressive portfolio of insurer contacts and I am delighted to welcome him as a member of the senior management team.

“Lee brings with him a background in building and developing service propositions with a view to future proofing the business. I believe he will make an immeasurable impact during his six month tenure.”
