Le Beau takes non-exec role at claim firm

Le Beau Visage managing director Peter Le Beau has been appointed non-executive director at the Health Claims Bureau.

HCB is part-owned by GenRe and specialises in claims services, providing assessor support and training, process and system reviews, home visits, and investigation and surveillance services.

Le Beau, who is chairman of the Income Protection Taskforce, says the industry needs to ensure that valid claims are paid and fraudulent claims dealt with effectively if income protection sales are to be revived.

HCB Group managing director Jim Harris says: “Peter will be a major asset to our work at the Health Claims Bureau. We are pleased to welcome someone of Peter’s exp-erience and reputation.”

Le Beau says: “I am delighted to be joining the board of HCB. I have known a number of members of the team for many years and they have huge product knowledge about income protection.”

HCB’s home visitors saw around 2,000 claimants in their homes during 2006 on behalf of their insurers. The firm says this accelerates the claim assessment process and embraces treating customers fairly.
