Lawyers question whether Government house buying proposals will work

Lawyers Thomas Eggar Church Adams has questioned how the Government&#39s new house buying process would work in practice.

The law firm says there are number of issues which need to be addressed if the scheme is to work.

Among the issues raised by the lawyers are who will pay for renewing property searches once they have expired after three months, who will decide what constitutes a complete sellers package and will lenders accept a surveyors report or will they require one of their own.

Head of residential property Andrew Crawford says: &#34It seems that lenders will not be prepared to accept these reports preferring to instruct their own valuers for which a buyer will have to pay a separate fee. This will add cost to the home move.&#34
