Landlord returns over 30 per cent in 2004 says Paragon

Paragon Mortgages’ buy to let index for January 2005 shows landlords earning total annual returns of over 31 per cent in the year ended December 31 2004.

Landlords made a return of 38,560 on an average property bought 12 months ago at 123,372. The previous year landlords reported annual returns of 20 per cent or 22,137 on average.

Despite the fall in property values nationally by 0.3 per cent during December 2004, rental property prices remained 23.9 per cent higher than December 2003.
