Lambeth walks into village site

Lambeth Building Society is sponsoring the country&#39s only nationally integrated community website and portal

The society&#39s logo will appear on the home page of each location where Lambeth has a branch, allowing access Lambeth&#39s website for information about its 10 local branches and full details on its range of savings, mortgages, investment and insurance products.

Sponsored community pages so far cover Ashford, Lambeth, Orpington, Sutton, Tonbridge, Upminster and Woking.

Lambeth will also sponsor pages covering the surrounding areas to Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and Queen&#39s Park Rangers football clubs, where it offers supporters special mortgage and savings rates as well as giving a donation to the clubs. A special mortgage for Crystal Palace supporters comes with a free three-year season ticket.

Lambeth says visitors to view three million pages every month as they search for businesses, events, people and places in the UK&#39s 27,500 villages, towns and areas covered by the site.

A percentage of Lambeth&#39s sponsorship fee will be put into a kitty allocated to projects put forward by local communities covered by the deal.

Lambeth marketing manager Peter Todd says: “A strong affinity with the community is one of the core values as a mutual building society. It makes perfect sense to seek more ways of demonstrating this and our tie-up with UK-Villages fits that objective.”

UKVillages marketing director Ellie Stoneley says: “Lambeth already demonstrates a marvellous level of community support and we are delighted that it now sponsors the pages of the communities it serves. It can deservedly blow its own trumpet and enhance its brand at a truly community level.”
