Klonowski follows in Australian&#39s footsteps

An IFA is changing his business model following correspondence with an adviser from Australia who appeared in Money Marketing.

Sole trader Francis Klon-owski will outsource all his investment advice after reading about the success of Australian David Haintz.

Klonowski and Haintz have been writing to each other ever since the Australian had an article published in MM describing how he had abandoned fund picking for his clients and was focusing on advice.

After reading the article, Klonowski, from Leeds-based Klonowski & Co, looked up Haintz, principal of Melbourne-IFA Haintz Financial Services, and started emailing.

Klonowski has since outsourced all his investment advice to Pivotal, the UK arm of Australian firm MLC which Haintz uses.

Klonowski says: “I liked what he was saying and thought that it was an interesting principle but I wanted to find out more. “I have been really pleased with the way business has gone.I think clients have been del-ighted as well.”

You keep your position in the queue and can get on with your work until Prudential calls you back. The result is no […]

Toby Walne

My freelance career begins with a trip to the pawnshop nervously clutching my wife&#39s £2,000 engagement ring. The news isn&#39t good. The high-class pawnbroker on The Mall stops his assistant from taking the ring round to Christie&#39s for a valuation. He only offers me £150. Well how about some of my prized comics? Poker-faced, I […]
