An IFA is changing his business model following correspondence with an adviser from Australia who appeared in Money Marketing.
Sole trader Francis Klon-owski will outsource all his investment advice after reading about the success of Australian David Haintz.
Klonowski and Haintz have been writing to each other ever since the Australian had an article published in MM describing how he had abandoned fund picking for his clients and was focusing on advice.
After reading the article, Klonowski, from Leeds-based Klonowski & Co, looked up Haintz, principal of Melbourne-IFA Haintz Financial Services, and started emailing.
Klonowski has since outsourced all his investment advice to Pivotal, the UK arm of Australian firm MLC which Haintz uses.
Klonowski says: “I liked what he was saying and thought that it was an interesting principle but I wanted to find out more. “I have been really pleased with the way business has gone.I think clients have been del-ighted as well.”
