The GÆIA Partnership IFA Olivia Bowen notes that there are not very many ethical Oeics that are globally invested, so she feels this is a useful addition.
“This fund offers some truly innovative approaches to seeking out ethical and environmental investment opportunities. The manager is an ethical specialist and is keen to provide a unique, competitive and versatile service to us and our clients,” she says.

Bowen regards the charges and adviser remuneration as in-line with the market.

“There are fewer holdings in this fund than in many Oeics – meaning less diversity but a focused investment style. The fund is also flexible as it can be held in an Isa or a Sipp,” she says.

Highlighting the potential drawbacks of the fund Bowen says: “The ethical team is small, and therefore relies upon just a few individuals. It is to be hoped that if the fund grows, larger management resources will be allocated.

She believes competition will come from the Jupiter ecology fund and the Henderson industries of the future fund

Bowen concludes: “The King & Shaxson team was established relatively recently, but has demonstrated excellent performance so far.”
