Kenmir steps down from intermediary role at FSA

David Kenmir is stepping down as head of the FSA’s ret- ail intermediaries sector.

The role will be taken on by the regulator’s small firms division.

Kenmir has been in charge of the retail intermediaries sector team since it was set up 18 months ago but is relinquishing control as it expands to include mortgage and gen- eral insurance advisers.

He will remain managing director of regulatory serv- ices and will still be invol- ved in adviser regulation through responsibilities for the firm contact centre, regula- tory reporting and the FSA fee processes.

The move comes as the regulator’s chief executive John Tiner returns to the FSA after a three-month break recovering from prostate cancer.

Kenmir says: “I will shortly be handing over leadership of the team to the new director of our small firms division.

“I will still be involved in financial adviser regulation and will continue to watch the market with interest.”
