Kellands take the plunge

Bristol based IFA firm Kellands joined up with other financial services teams in a sponsored abseil to raise cash for the charity.

The event which took place on the weekend of June 26 to 27, saw Kellands&#39 staff joined by teams from Axa Sun Life, Royal & SunAlliance and local radio station GWR FM to raise money for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

The Bristol IFAs raised more than £5,000 for the charity.

The sponsored abseil called &#34The Big Dangle,&#34 took place at Sea Walls in the Avon Gorge. The firm made up the biggest team with 20 staff completing the 150 foot drop.

Pride of place went to Kellands managing director and Burns-Anderson Network&#39s executive chairman Steve Kelland, who staff have nicknamed the &#34Big Dangler.&#34

Kelland says: &#34I thought running a network was challenge enough, until I did this. For someone of my stature and for someone with a fear of heights, I am happy to have made it down safely. I am even happier that Kellands has managed to raise such a decent sum for a very good cause.&#34
