Kames hires high yield manager for fixed income team

Kames Capital has bolstered its fixed income team with the addition of an investment manager covering high yield bonds.

Claire McGuckin will report to Phil Milburn, manager of the £795.9m Kames high yield bond and £113.9m Kames high yield global bond funds.

Milburn says: “Claire’s 18 years experience in credit research will further strengthen our award winning fixed income capabilities, particularly in the high yield sector, where she will work closely with myself, Melanie Mitchell and Debbie [King] as we look to maintain our consistency and build on our recent successes.”

Kames’ fixed income team was strengthened with the hire of King, Garvin Peoples and Paul Dilworth in January 2012, following the appointment of Greg Mackay and Stephen Snowden during 2011.

McGuckin was most recently at Legal & General Investment Management, where she started as an analyst before becoming a fund manager. Prior to this, she was an analyst at Fidelity and a credit researcher in ABN Amro’s investment banking division.
