Kames Capital has hired Craig Bonthron as an investment manager within its global equity team.
Bonthron joins from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership where he was investment director global equities and joint fund manager of the Swip Global Sustainability Equity and Global Islamic Equity funds.
In his new role Bonthron will report to Pauline McPherson, who co-manages the Kames Global Equity fund alongside Neil Goddin. Bonthron will work with McPherson on stock analysis for the global equity fund as well as liaising with Kames’ regional equity specialists on investment ideas for the global equity portfolios.
Kames Capital’s chief investment officer Stephen Jones says: “Craig brings 12 years of experience in global equities where he has been both fund manager and an analyst for a number of different strategies and geographies. This experience leaves him well placed to seek out and analyse good ideas for our global equity funds.”
