Jupiter’s Lawery to retire from fund management

Jupiter Asset Management fund manager Peter Lawery is to retire from fund management at the end of the year.

Once retired Lawery will assume a consultancy role with Jupiter.

Lawery has been a member of the Jupiter Merlin Independent Funds team since 2001 and co-managed the firm’s multi-manager range alongside chief investment officer John Chatfeild-Roberts and Algy Smith-Maxwell.

Lawery has 23 years of experience in fund management, starting his career in 1990 at Hill Samuel Investment, moving to Lazard Asset Management in 1992 and becoming a fund manager in 1996.

Chatfeild-Roberts says: “Peter has been a good friend and valued colleague for many years. He has not only contributed to our outperformance but has also helped build the team’s resources for the future.

“I would like to thank him for his tremendous support in this time and am delighted he will continue to provide input to the Merlin team and Jupiter more widely as a consultant.”

Lawery says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at Jupiter so far and look forward to contributing to both the Merlin team and the company in my new role as a consultant.”
