Jupiter green guide faces up to big issues

Jupiter Asset Management is offering a free guide to green investment for investors who want to invest in companies that provide solutions to environmental problems.

The guide will give investors further information on companies offering environmental solutions and how to invest.

It provides examples of companies that Jupiter believes will get a competitive advantage by spotting environmental trends at an early stage and developing products and services which respond to environmental and social change Jupiter says it has been at the forefront of socially responsible investment since establishing its ecology fund 15 years ago. Ecology fund manager Charlie Thomas says the fund looks specifically for companies that will benefit from growing markets for their products.

Head of SRI Emma Howard Boyd says: “There is a wide acceptance that environmental problems are not going to disappear.

“Problems associated with climate change, freshwater scarcity and pollution are among some of the biggest issues facing the world today.

“Society is going to have to change to fit within the resources of the planet – and companies which are better placed to make that transition are more likely to win out in the long term.”
