House prices in England and Wales increased by 0.1 per cent in July, the lowest rate of growth since June 2006 according to the Land Registry’s monthly House Price Index.
The average house price rose to £181,460. London continues to lead the rest of the country when it comes to house price growth with an increase of 1 per cent for the month bringing the average house price to £342,936.
The annual change in house prices is 8.8 per cent for England and Wales. The London figure is 15.5 per cent. For the fourth month in a row London’s growth is around 6 per cent greater than England and Wales put together.
