JPMAM appoints head of emerging market debt team

J.P. Morgan Asset Management has appointed Pierre-Yves Bareau as head of its emerging market debt team.

Bareau will be responsible for coordinating the firm’s global emerging markets debt investment teams across the globe. He joins from Fortis Investments where he has been the chief investment officer for emerging market debt for more than ten years.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management global chief investment officer Bob Michele says: “His deep knowledge of the global markets, proven disciplined approach to evaluating opportunities and added focus on emerging market corporate debt will expand J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s reach and capabilities in identifying value in emerging markets.”

JPMAM has been looking to ramp up its capabilities in the fixed income space following the appointment of Michele from Schroders last year.
