JPM to launch ‘best ideas’ global bond fund

J.P. Morgan Asset Management is launching a strategic bond fund under the leadership of Bob Michele.

The new fund will launch on May 6 and will be a ‘best ideas’ global bond fund unconstrained by benchmarks or static sector weights targeting 3 per cent above the Merrill Lynch GBP broad market index.

It is expected to have broad allocations across global fixed income and currency markets and the ability to invest in any market or sector including high yield debt and emerging markets.

Michele joined JPMAM as global chief investment officer of fixed income last September from Schroders where he was head of fixed income.

Head of UK retail sales Jasper Berens says: “The launch of the JPM strategic bond fund strongly solidifies our commitment to the fixed income space and having Bob Michele at the helm only enhances this.”
