JP Morgan Fleming appoints new chief exec

JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management has appointed Paul Bateman as its worldwide chief executive.

Bateman was previously head of JPMFAM Europe, Asia and Japan. Prior to that he was the global head of Chase Fleming Asset Management following the merger of Chase Manhattan and Robert Fleming Asset Management in 1995.

Bateman&#39s appointment follows the decision by Ron Dewhirst, head of JPMFAM in the Americas to quit the group to return to his native Australia with his family.

Bateman will continue to report to JPMorgan Chase head of investment management & private banking Jes Staley.
