Johnstone Douglas names new MD

Johnstone Douglas has Nigel Chambers as its new managing director.


Chambers takes over the post with immediate effect replacing Doug Johnstone who becomes executive chairman. Mike Dwyer will continue in his role as deputy managing director.


Chambers has been the driving force behind Chambers Townsend Consultancy, Johnstone Douglas&#39 pensions and administration technological systems provider.


He was also formerly the joint deputy MD and the firm&#39s senior actuary.

Liberal Democrats to stage oppostition to widows pension changes

The Liberal Democrats will this week stage an opposition day debate on widows pensions and benefits, claiming widows are much worse off under this Government than the last.The changes include the replacement of the Serps-based widow&#39s pension with a less generous bereavement allowance which could cost a widow over £19,000 over five years.
