Employee benefits specialists Johnstone Douglas has appointed John Carr as associate director in charge of stakeholder pensions development.
His role will be to gain an 'unfair' share of pensions and computer software market resulting from the introduction of stakeholder pensions.
Previously semi-retired, Carr has been working for the IFA in the capacity of compliance officer.
Formerly he has held senior pension positions with Abbey Life, Hambro Life and NM Schroder.
Carr says : "I was persuaded to return to the fray because of the tremendous opportunity ahead of Johnstone Douglas in the stakeholder market. As a major systems supplier to the pensions industry and as an expert in defined contribution schemes, we are ideally placed."
