John Devine to join Threadneedle as COO

Threadneedle has appointed John Devine as chief operating officer.

Devine joins Threadneedle on September 8 from Merrill Lynch where he was senior vice president and global head of operations for over 4,000 staff.

In his new role, Devine will lead the strategy for Threadneedle’s support services including IT, operations, legal and compliance, strategy, human resources and finance functions.

Commenting on the appointment Threadneedle chief executive Crispin Henderson says: “We have ambitious plans to grow the business and John’s extensive industry knowledge and international experience will be a great addition to the Threadneedle team. John’s appointment will drive forward the management and development of our support functions, enabling us to continue to deliver excellent service for our clients.”
