Scottish Building Society general manager Jim Dunn has been appointed chairman of the Council of Mortgage Lenders Scotland.
Dunn takes over from Lloyds Banking Group head of housing development Douglas Cochrane.
Dunn joined Scottish Building Society in January 1998 and has been employed in the financial services industry for more than 30 years. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland and has acted as an examiner for the institute’s mortgage advice & practice certificate.
In a speech at the CML Scotland annual lunch today, Dunn said: “CML Scotland represents the interests of over 20 members lending in Scotland and this year will continue to advise on issues affecting Scotland, particularly those arising from our separate legal system and the activities of the Scottish Government.”
Last month director general Michael Coogan announced he will leave the CML in August after almost 15 years at the trade body.
