James Hay MD quits for wealth venture

James Hay managing director Jan Regnart is leaving the firm to set up a wealth management consultancy but will continue to work with Abbey Wealth Management in an advisory capacity.

Abbey Wealth Management head Javier Maldonado has taken over temporary responsibility as chief executive which is a new title but carries the same responsibilities as Regnart’s role. Maldonado will continue in his current role.

The firm recently said it will be investing significantly in its wrap platform and has an agreement with Australian firm InfoComp to provide technology for further developments next year.

Maldonado says: “Jan has played a key role in establishing James Hay as a provider of high-quality Sipp and wrap services. We are delighted she will continue to provide counsel during this exciting stage in our development.”

“We have invested heavily in our wrap and Sipp proposition and have ambitious plans to grow our share of the investment market. We cont-inue to work closely with our IFA partners to develop our offering and to support IFAs and their clients.”
