Paradigm Group has appointed former Octopus Investments chief investment officer Lothar Mentel as its chief investment officer.
Paradigm says Mentel (pictured) will be responsible for leading development at the firm’s new investment management business Tatton which is due to launch later this year.
Mentel was made redundant from Octopus in December following a staff review at the firm.
Paradigm partner Anthony Morrow says: “We have known Lothar for several years through our close working relationship with Octopus Investments. He is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable individuals in the industry.”
Mentel says: “Paradigm’s decision to launch an independent investment management business is a significant one for the group and the wider asset management industry and I am honoured to have been given the opportunity to lead its development and growth.”
