Friends Life has appointed chief operating officer David Hynam as UK chief executive as part of a reshuffle which will see corporate affairs and brand director Peter Foster leave the provider at the end of the year.
Hynam will be responsible for the provider’s ‘go to market’ business in the newly created role and will report to group chief executive Andy Briggs.
Foster, who has been at Friends Life since 2010, will leave the provider at the end of the year.
Prior to joining Friends he was head of European marketing at Aegon Asset Management, now known as Kames Capital.
He has also previously held senior marketing roles at Zurich and Prudential.
A Friends Life spokesman says Foster now plans to set up a watch business.
Hargreaves Lansdown head of advice Danny Cox says: “Friends Life has clearly gone through a period of significant change in the past year. It is important it has someone in charge of the UK business who can steady the ship and make sure it is focused on serving its customers.”
