Investment Update

New Star Asset Management has raised £25m of new equity from investors, including a number of undisclosed UK financial institutions and wealthy individuals. As well as subscribing for equity now, the group of inv-estors has agreed in principle to provide an additional £125m in future to finance major acquisitions.

Close Brothers Group fund management division Close Investments has acquired Chartered Trust Services, the Cayman Island-based trust and company admin business, for an undisclosed sum.

Henderson Global Investors has appointed Shirley Garrood as director of investment operations responsible for all investment management activities. She joins from Morley Fund Management.

Skandia is increasing its range of external fund links with the addition of ABN Amro. The company will offer access to ABN&#39s UK growth, UK select opportunities, equity income and high-income funds. Skandia will also be offering Framlington&#39s UK growth and Fidelity&#39s international funds.
