Birmingham law firm Shakespeares is setting up a specialist investment management firm targeting the business and professional community at a local and national level.
Hathaway Investment Management is the idea of Shakespeares partner Graham Englefield, who wanted to create and run an independent investment house. He will head the firm with former Shakespeares head of private clients Nicholas Grazebrook.
Grazebrook has been running an investment service for wealthy private clients, trusts and victims of severe personal injury on behalf of the law firm for some years.
Hathaway says it will take a conservative approach to stock selection, with tailored portfolios typically comprising cash, equities and gilts.
Hathaway chairman Charles Flint says: “It is our understanding of the often complex needs of wealthy individuals and infinite variety of trusts that differentiates Hathaway from many other investment houses.”
