Investec replace Tim Guinness on global energy fund

Investec has taken Tim Guinness off its global energy fund after deciding to take the portfolio in-house.

Guinness, who is CEO and founder of Guinness Asset Management, had grown the onshore and offshore versions to a total of $2bn in assets under management.

The veteran fund manager is being replaced by recent hires Mark Lacey and Jonathan Waghorn, both of whom were previously sell-side analysts on Goldman Sachs energy team.

Lacey, who also had stints at JPMorgan and Credit Suisse, was once rated the number one energy analyst by Thomson Extel. Waghorn was also a five-star rated analyst at investment research firm Starmine.
