Invesco adds to Asian team

Invesco Perpetual has added Ian Hargreaves and Stephanie Wu to its Asian equities team.

Hargreaves worked for Invesco in Hong Kong for 11 years. He will manage the pan-Asian portfolios alongside head of Asian equities Stuart Parks and will be responsible for Hong Kong and China as well as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

Wu, who joins in March, has 11 years experience working for Foreign & Colonial in Asia. She will be responsible for stock selection in the Korean and Taiwanese portion of all funds managed by the team. These markets now make up around 40 per cent of the Asia ex Japan market.

Parks says: “Their addition will provide greater depth of research coverage in key Asian markets, enhancing our ability to generate strong investment performance for our clients. With nearly 40 years of combined knowledge investing in Asian markets, we now have one of the most experienced Asian desks in the industry.”
