Internet links aim to list specialist brokers

Internet-based financial services directory Online-IFA has set up a

service to put IFAs in contact with specialists.

The new section of the directory enables any IFA with a specialisation to

register with Online-IFA and get a free hyperlink to their own website.

The main Online-IFA site, which advertises itself as “run by an IFA for

IFAs” was launched in early July. It is a collection of links to major

financial services websites under headings such as networks, recruitment,

regulation and fund managers.

Users contribute to the site at with new links. In the

first two days of operation there were more than 200 registrations.

Online-IFA spokesman Colin Barrett says: “In these days of greater

specialisation, many IFAs are giving advice in much narrower areas.

Inevitably, they will come across many instances where they are unable to

provide a client with advice in an area they need it. Our directory will

help them to find a specialist to help them on either a commission-share or

consultancy basis.”
