Inter-Alliance expands Middle East operation

IFA group Inter-Alliance International is opening an office in

Bahrain as part of its Middle East expansion programme.

The group has appointed Chris Curry as managing director of

Inter-Alliance International Middle East. He will be responsible for

development in the region.

The offshore arm of Inter-Alliance plans to develop the Middle East

region over the next three years, with Bahrain taking over operations

from offices based in Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates.

The group is recruiting experienced, qualified IFAs from the region

but also has plans to recruit in the UK.

IAI chief executive Brian Cosgrave says: “Our current subsidiaries in

Africa and Asia are operating profitably and ahead of target and we

expect our Middle East operation to contribute further to this

success.”

Curry says: “The market here requires IFAs to have credibility and to

provide advice of the highest quality. My immediate plans are to

recruit a small team of high-quality advisers and I have already made

significant progress in this regard. I expect that the operation will

be able to turn in a small profit this year.”
