Inland Revenue crack down on illegal Isas

The Inland Revenue has said it is to crack down on investors which have more than one Isa, according to the pre-budget report.

If Isas are found to be incompatible with compliance procedures, the IR will instruct the manager to close the account and return any investments to the investor. The manager will also be required to repay any tax relief to the IR given in error.
