Ingledew takes strategic role at Standard

Barclays Financial Planning commercial director Stephen Ingledew is leaving next month to join Standard Life as distribution strategy director.

The newly created role will see Ingledew take responsibility for developing Standard’s distribution capacity and capability, focusing on strategic deals. He will report to managing director, distribution, Paul Matthews.

Ingledew, who was at Barclays for over three years, says he had approaches from several firms but chose Standard because of its innovation and contemporary attitude to distribution and the IFA market. He starts on November 1.

He says: “I had a couple of approaches and have nothing against Barclays but wanted to have a big role in the distribution landscape. Standard’s name and franchise with the IFAs is key to moving the distribution model on.”

Matthews says: “I am delighted that Stephen is joining Standard Life at such an exciting time in the company’s development. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience of the financial services industry.

“Stephen has an impressive reputation in the financial services market and he brings to us a wealth of knowledge and experience in distribution.”
