I entered the financial services industry in 1965, gaining experience with Standard Life, Prudential, NMLAA and Stewart Wrightson before joining Hill Samuel Life/Hill Samuel Professional Adviser Services in 1972.
In 1994, I joined an IFA in Chippenham, where I was actively involved in discretionary fund management and made my statement concerning the Lodge case (which I was invited to do as an independent observer) before carrying out any work for HME. I am entitled to my honest opinion, as you are to yours.
During my long career in the industry, I have held many industry-related committee positions and lectured in subjects of the ACII and AFPC. I was also a senior examiner for the Chartered Insurance Institute.
I do not propose to debate the Lodge case with you although I have a far more in-depth knowledge of the issues involved.
