Immanis aids advisers with referrals service

Software developer Imm-anis is offering its Cris cli-ent-referrer service to IFAs as changes to the regulation of advice given by sol-icitors and accountants are introduced with N2.

The service is an electronic online referral tool that allows professionals such as solicitors and acc-ountants to refer clients to IFAs and monitor the adv-ice process for their own compliance purposes.

At present, there are 15,000 professional practices authorised to conduct investment business but this number is expected to fall dramatically once these firms&#39 compliance burden is increased after N2.

But there are many inst-ances where lawyers and acountants are legally exp-ected to give advice on financial issues or, if not, prove they have pointed their client in the direction of obtaining advice.

Immanis&#39 service comes with five downloadable case studies looking at longterm care, keyperson insurance, pensions and divorce, inheritance tax and trust planning, which IFAs can use to explain to lawyers and accountants why they should refer work to them.

Immanis managing dir-ector Trevor Hinds says: “The Cris system allows the adviser to keep the referring practice informed as to what stage of the financial advice process the client is in by simply updating the referral record.”
