IMA managed sector launch delayed due to lack of interest

The launch of one of the Investment Management Association managed sectors has been delayed as there are too few funds to populate it.

The IMA Mixed Investment 0-35 per cent Shares sector has not yet officially been launched as there are fewer than 10 funds that will currently sit within the sector.

The IMA says the sector will launch once 10 funds have been found to populate the sector.

Appetite for the IMA Mixed Investment 0-35 per cent Shares sector had already been questioned by some in the industry.

The remaining three sectors have been launched: IMA Mixed Investment 20-60 per cent Shares, IMA Mixed Investment 40-85 per cent Shares and IMA Flexible Investment sector. (See related file to the right for details of funds in each sector.)

The new sectors were announced by the IMA in November, bringing them more into line with corresponding sectors within the Association of British Insurers universe of pension funds.
