The new legislation raises the inheritance tax threshold from €50,000 to €150,000 per parent for each child. For nephews and nieces the new threshold will only be €7,500, while for brothers and sisters the threshold rises from €5,000 to €15,000.
The changes form part of the new Work, Employment and Buying Power legislation.
