ifs ProShare offers employee share plan course to IFAs

Employee share plan organisation, ifs ProShare, is offering an introductory course about employee share plans for financial advisers.

ifs ProShare says the two and a half hour course, which includes ifs School of Finance CPD credits, will give advisers an understanding of the most common employee share plans.

According to its own research, approximately five million UK employees are now saving into some form of employee share plan.

Head of employee share ownership Julie Richardson says increasing numbers of employees are recognising the benefits of employee share ownership, but there is still along way to go in terms of financial advice.

She says: “Some employees may not be participating in a plan made available to them through their employer because of a lack of understanding, others may be participating but unaware of the options available to them.

“Recent changes to the CGT regime could also have an impact on the tens of thousands of employees who achieve SAYE share plan gains in excess of £9,600. Smaller but significant numbers may also be affected by the new non-doms legislation. All these situations demonstrate a need for professional financial advice.”
