The week, running from September 8-14, will involve daily themes covering different aspects of financial planning, a consumer survey and a daily online poll to show consumers’ views and attitudes,
Information will be delivered mainly via the Financial Planning Week website and various activities will be held for consumers by IFP branches around the UK.
The event is being supported by Hargreaves Lansdown and Grant Thornton.
IFP chief executive Nick Cann says: “This is one of the most important initiatives attempted within personal finance for many years. The campaign is completely impartial – we’re not trying to sell anything and there are no vested interests.
“The overall aim is to get consumers to take some positive action during the week in respect of their own financial plans, no matter how small, which will help them start to identify what they want from life and then to plan how to get there.”
