IFP appoints Manchester branch chairman

The Institute of Financial Planning has appointed Smart Financial Planning director Steve Martin as the chairman of its Manchester branch.

Martin will oversee the 250 member branch, which includes firms such as Grant Thornton, Deloittes and BDO.

He says: “During my time as chair, I will doing what I can to raise the profile of our industry, demonstrate its professionalism and educate people that financial planners are professionally qualified individuals, whose purpose is to help clients clarify their financial and non financial goals and then work with them for the long term until those goals are achieved.”
