IFAs get white-label supermart

Fund supermarket Fundsdirect is teaming up with Microsoft to develop a consumer web solution for IFAs.

The service, launched at the conference in Manchester last week, will allow IFAs to offer their clients a white-labelled fund supermarket site where clients can check the value of their own holdings.

The site will give clients the ability to deal online in equities, over 1,500 funds, own-branded Isas, Peps and Pep transfers. The platform will offer access to trading and valuation of insurance, mortgages, life and pensions and protection products.

The system is a UK version of US-based MSN Money Professional. Egg-owned Fundsdirect and Microsoft believe it will become a key part of an IFA&#39s multi-channel distribution strategy.

They claim that it will fulfil product providers&#39 requirements for distribution after CP121.

Microsoft industry manager (UK financial services David Slight says: “MSN Money Professional allows the IFA to reach out to the customer with a digital relationship. This service offers a web experience for the customer that is personalised, showing the information and services that the IFA chooses, enabling rich communication and collaboration where you can explore a portfolio with your client.”

Fundsdirect chief executive Sean Ewing says: “We have an industrial-strength platform that is used by large financial organisations. We want to work with our software partners and selected intermediary groups to bring this proposition to the IFA sector to fulfil the demand for this service from IFAs.”
