IFAs get Smart at tech roadshows

IFAs from Inter-Alliance and City Investments were the first to win Smart cars at Intelligent Finance&#39s UK-wide roadshow. Stuart Miles from Inter-Alliance in Newcastle and Gwyn Davies from City Investments in Chester won the cars in a business card draw.

Intelligent Finance is giving away a car a week as the roadshow moves around the UK. The Work Smarter, Not Harder theme aims to highlight ways advisers can make their working day more productive by using technology.

Intelligent Finance research shows IFAs spend only 15 per cent of their time giving advice, with compliance, admin and travel taking up a significant portion of their day.

The roadshow includes a video comparing the typical day of an adviser in the 1960s with today&#39s IFA, showing how the time spent advising has barely increased. Presentations feature representatives of four IFAs, London & Country, Moneyquest, Hatch Associates and Louis d&#39Espagnac, which have adopted technology to maximise business.

The roadshow will be visiting Southampton, Cambridge, St Albans, Croydon and central London. Intelligent Finance sales director Ian Jeffery says: “We aim to make the show informative and helpful in highlighting ways of using technology to change the way we work.”
