IFAs foresee depolarisation chaos

The overwhelming majority of IFAs believe the FSA&#39s proposed changes to polarisation will result in confusion, with 97 per cent saying the confusion needs to be addressed urgently, according to a survey by Standard & Poor&#39s.

The poll shows that 69 per cent of IFAs believe financial advice will wither following depolarisation, while only 25 per cent believe it will stay the same.

Over half of IFAs believe that the UK public can be persuaded that financial advice is a commodity that has a commercial value but nearly all felt it could take many years before the commission-orientated culture of the UK investor was changed.
